Curly's new name is Tanner. He has grown into quite a handsome boy. He is so loving, smart and boy can he jump. He amazes both my husband and myself. His ability to jump motivated my husband to complete the project of replacing the 4ft.temporary fencing with the permanent 6ft. fencing. His brother (our other adoptee from Belleville Hum) isn't quite the jumper but Tanner is teaching him. Gracie, our min. schnauzer crawls under while the boys jump over. Tanner bounces over in one effortless jump, Kota has to give a good bounce jump and crawl but then there they all are where they think the grass is greener "on the other side of the fence" only to be stopped by a 6ft. fence. Tanner was so easy to house train. He did want to chew a lot at first, he now knows no chewing anything in the house except his toys but outside it's free territory. However, he has learned to leave the garden alone, well for the most part. Once in awhile he just can't resist or maybe he just forgets. He loves carrots, well now he does. I decided to pull way back on the standard doggie treats and start the healthier carrots as their treats. The first time I gave them carrots when I called them in for treats, they all sat infront of me, as usual, staring up at me anxiously awaiting their treat and I put carrots in each of their mouths. I walked a few feet away, turned and looked at three dogs sitting there with carrots on the floor directly infront of them staring up at me like are you serious, what is this? After a couple of our "treat times" with carrots being the only option I can happily say they are completely converted from the Wal-Mart doggie treat to carrots. Tanner also loves to play in water/mud puddles. This past spring there were days he looked more like a chocolate lab. The attached pic's are of his different growth stages and his brother and sister. I'm curious, what ever happened to Tanner's two other brothers?Thank you to all of you
