Buttons before adoption

Buttons was one of those rescues that you just never forget.  She escaped death, not once but twice and she has a huge fan club that watched and prayed as this little girl fought for her life for nearly 3 weeks.  

You see Buttons was rescued from an Animal Control facility where her time was up and on what would have been her last day of life and then one Sunday morning, a short time after Buttons was rescued, she suddenly became critically ill, lying in a puddle of blood.

 We rushed her to the nearby hospital where she spent the next 2 weeks in the critical care unit while the doctors tried desperatley to find what the problem was.  On more than one occassion we were called by the hospital to come and say our final good-byes to Buttons and let her go.  But each time we went, we saw something.. Something we believed was very real...In her own way we believed Buttons was telling us that she was not ready to stop fighting.   While we would be standing there next to her, petting her, with tears running down our faces, and though she barely had any strength left, she would always wag her tail and crawl over to us for a belly rub.

We refused to give up and chose to move Buttons to our vet, whom is closer to us and whom we trust with no reservation.  Slowly and steadily she began responding to the new therapy and then we began cooking her special meals and delivered them to her in the hospital..  It was truly amazing to watch this little girl battle back from near death.  Now she is completely recovered and has a new jest for life, she can now run and play with her new friends ... she is just so happy. 

This little girl can show us all what it truly means to celebrate life.

HELLO AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!
JUST WANTED TO UPDATE YOU ON BUTTON.
SHE WAS SPAYED A FEW WEEKS AGO AND CAME THROUGH LIKE A CHAMP.
SHE REALLY LIKES IT HERE AND LOVES TO TERRORIZE THE BIG GIRLS. THEY DONT SEEM TO MIND TOO MUCH. I FIND HER SLEEPING NEXT TO THEM WHEN SHE'S NOT SLEEPING ON ME.
WE'RE STILL WORKING ON THE HOUSE TRAINING THING....SHE'S SOOOO SNEAKY.
  WHEN I LET HER OUT, SHE RUNS AND RUNS. THE BIG GIRLS WATCH ( i think they think she's crazy).
WE ALL ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR FIRST CHRISTMAS TOGETHER.
I LET YA KNOW HOW IT GOES.
NO NEW STOMACH PROBLEMS.........HER STRICT DIET SEEMS TO BE WORKING,
SHE DOES GET A TREAT AT TIMES.  I GOT HER THE ALLERGY FREE BISCUITS THAT THE VET SELLS. SHE'S NOT CRAZY ABOUT THEM, BUT WHEN I GIVE THE BIG GIRLS THEIR MILK BONES, BUTTON THINKS SHE'S GETTING THE SAME.
COME SPRING SHE WILL GET ANOTHER HAIR CUT.....MAYBE I'LL BRING HER THERE SO YOU ALL CAN SEE HER.

BUTTON IS DOING GREAT. I JUST LET HER OUTSIDE AND SHE'S RUNNING AROUND LIKE A MANIAC. SHE LOVES TO RUN IN HER NEW BACKYARD.
I FINALLY FOUND A GROOMER THAT WILL LET ME STAY WITH HER WHILE THEY CUT HER HAIR.....HER APPT. IS THIS SATURDAY.
 I JUST BOUGHT A DIGITAL CAMERA, SO WHEN I FIGUIRE IT OUT, I'LL SEND YA SOME PICS(may take awhile).

HELLO;
BUTTON WENT TO THE DR. TODAY FOR A CHECK-UP.
EVERYTHING IS FINE. SHE IS DOING GREAT.
NEXT WEEK WE GET A HAIR CUT.(YEAH!!!)
DO YOU RECOMMEND ANYONE IN THE GODFREY AREA?

JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT BOTTON( we dropped the "s") IS DOING GREAT.
A LITTLE STUBBORN AT TIMES BUT MINDS VERY WELL.  SHE'S ACTUALLY A BETTER WATCH DOG THAN MY BIG GIRLS(dont tell them i told you). THE BIG GIRLS ARE SLOWLY WARMING UP TO HER AND HER TO THEM.
HER MEDS END THIS WEEK AND I WILL TAKE HER TO THE DOC TO SEE HOW SHE IS DOING.

HELLO!
PLEASE E-MAIL ME BUTTONS DR. APPT  INFO AND OTHER PAPERS.
SHE IS DOING GREAT AND IS A QUICK LEARNER(already learned how to take charge of this house!!!!) WE DID HAVE A FEW POTTY ACCIDENTS BUT HOPE TO FIX THEM SOON.

BUTTONS IS GOING GREAT. I THINK THE BIGGEST ADJUSTMENT IS FOR ME AND THE OTHER TWO GIRLS. I FORGET HOW TINY SHE IS. SOME OF MY DOG TREATS ARE BIGGER THAN HER!!! I HAVE TO WATCH MY STEPS...SHE'S ALWAYS UNDER FOOT.
SHE LOVES TO ROLL AROUND ON THE GRASS AND RUN IN THE BACK YARD.
SHE SLEEPS ON MY LAP AT NIGHT AND WHILE WATCHING TV. THE FIRST DOSE OF MEDICINE WHENT DOWN VERY EASILY.  SO FAR....SO VERY GOOD!!

Hello  Its been 7 hours now and buttons is fitting in wonderfully! She got a new collar and new pet bed and seems to like them both (likes my lap better though). The 2 big girls dont mind her at all....Tia and her will be best buddies in a few days. Cleo just wants to sleep.. I know this will work out great.
